Na tat svabhasam drsyatvat
Just as the senses of perception and mind act as the mirror of consciousness, the consciousness acts as the mirror of the seer. The seer does not need a mirror to act or reflect as he is self illuminative. Patanjali defines consciousness in its real form. He says that as the senses of perception, mind, intelligence, ego and the external things are the knowable objects to the consciousness, so is the consciousness a knowable object to the seer, seer is self illumination while the consciousness is not.
